Cooperative Supervision in Jakarta Tightened

At least two years, each cooperative must hold the annual meeting. But, until now, there are only 4,800 reports

Jakarta Small and Medium Enterprises and Cooperatives (KUKMP) Dept. is tightly supervising the feasibility of cooperatives in the capital. From 8,000 cooperatives listed, 3,200 out of them are detected inactive.

"At least two years, each cooperative must hold the annual meeting. But, until now, there are only 4,800 reports," said Irwandi, Head of Jakarta KUMKMP Dept., Wednesday (3/22).

Cooperative Development Still Hampered With Capital & SDM

He disclosed it is conducted to avoid losses to the public. Like the case in other areas, a number of cooperatives are used to compile funds and fraudulent practice.

This year, his party will intensively supervise them. If the unfeasible cooperative is detected, sanction will be given.

"First, we will send a letter. If it is ignored, we will close down them," he closed.
